Ed Parrillo

The Veterans Committee leads the Lodge’s efforts to serve and honor veterans and active‑duty military. This includes organizing donations, hosting appreciation events, partnering with local VA facilities, and supporting programs that assist veterans in need. Their mission reflects the Elks’ long‑standing pledge: “So long as there are veterans, the Elks will never forget them.”

The Special Children’s Committee focuses on supporting children with special needs and their families. They organize inclusive events, provide financial assistance for therapies and equipment, and partner with community organizations to ensure every child has opportunities to thrive. This committee embodies the Elks’ commitment to compassion and community service.

Ritual Team

Linda Gathen - Head Coach

The Ritual Team is responsible for training, preparing, and supporting officers in the performance of the Elks ritual. They promote ritual excellence, coordinate practices, ensure adherence to Grand Lodge standards, and help the Lodge present dignified, meaningful ceremonies for initiations, openings, and closings.

Lake Hopatcong has won over 20 state ritual competitions, has reached the National Finals several times, and is the 2011 National Ritual Competition Champion.

The Elks Drug Awareness Program is the largest volunteer drug education initiative in the country. At our Lodge, we provide resources, presentations, and community outreach to help educate youth and families about the dangers of drug misuse. Through partnerships with schools, parents, and local organizations, we promote healthy choices and a drug‑free future.

The Elks National Foundation (ENF) is the charitable arm of the Elks, dedicated to building stronger communities across the country.
